NYS Independent Redistricting Commission announces final
Catch-all Virtual Hearing and Commission timeline
The Commissioners of the NYS Independent Redistricting Commission announced Wednesday, November 23rd a final virtual catch-all hearing will take place virtually on Sunday, December 5th at 2 p.m. The commission also announced that they cannot guarantee that any public submissions received after December 6th will be considered as part of the line drawing process.
The commission also announced a timeline for them to come together and work toward one final set of maps to be sent to the legislature. Following the December 5th virtual hearing, the commission will begin deliberations to come to a consensus on a final set of maps. The commission will provide updates to the public on Wednesday, December 22nd. On Monday January 3rd, the commission will meet to vote on the final proposal to be sent to the legislature.
For those that would like to participate in the December 5th virtual hearing you must register at www.nyirc.gov. Registration for the hearing will end on December 3rd at 2 p.m.
