As you can see from the attached map, the Rockaways is a Peninsula, Surrounded by Jamaica Bay, the Atlantic ocean, and connects to Nassau County at the east end. As a Peninsula we have special issues such as but not limited to coastal Erosion, (Because of storms from the 2 large bodies of water), Transportation (2 bridges to accessing the peninsula), An education. We need to keep our collective voice By keeping our current district format. Rockaway Peninsula must remain part of one congressional district. Only this way in the Rockaways be served properly. Keep a united Rockaway and not a divided Rockaway.

The Rockaways are on a peninsula in QUEENS with access try two toll bridges and on the east end through Nassau county. It should continue to be United when considering redistricting. It should not be divided. We are able to work together helping each other and if divided we would loose that unity. We are a peninsula with several small communities. Dividing us would lead to dividing neighbors who have worked together for ages. It would lead to discriminating one area against another. We need to remain ONE congressional district. Know that the “letters” planned for the congressional district are terrible to our peninsula and communities. It will divide one end against another…neighbor against neighbor. Keep us all in our current QUEENS district

Here is a cleaner (fairly county/town compliant) 119D-30R State Assembly map. It has 4 Asian majority districts, 3 Asian plurality districts, 16 Black majority districts, 4 Black plurality districts, 13 Hispanic majority districts, 3 Hispanic plurality districts, and 9 general majority-minority districts. The link to it is: https://davesredistricting.org/join/b255dd7c-2fcf-4141-8cfa-1dc23b032f61, and the link to my State Senate map which I forgot to include in my description for it is: https://davesredistricting.org/join/c4c8a870-d602-4c90-9964-ef30900ea1f5

This map is much cleaner along city and county borders, removes much of the upstate gerrymandering by Republicans, and has 3 Asian majority districts, 1 Asian plurality district, 5 Black majority districts, 3 Black plurality districts, 5 Hispanic majority districts, and 7 Hispanic plurality districts, so it is very good in giving minority populations a voice.

I have included a direct link to the map on the site it was made with, Dave's Redistricting. This site is a tool for creating congressional and legislative districting maps, and is especially useful as it provides detailed, precise data about district demographics. https://davesredistricting.org/join/91e0d2a2-cea7-4ede-b387-da8368d61aff This senate map results in an upper chamber that is much more proportional to the wishes of NY voters, both statewide and in every region. As I see it, this map does a very good job of making competitive seats in places where they should be competitive -places like Long Island and in the Southern Tier - while keeping areas that are deep red or blue as close as possible to electing senators that way. It is important to note that this map was drawn without consideration of partisan lean at any point in its inception, and for that reason, has resulted in a very fair map. It also features minimal splitting of counties where it can be avoided, ensuring communities of interest are not needlessly divided. Thank you for your consideration. It makes me deeply proud to be a New Yorker when I know there is a commission working to ensure our maps produce as democratic results as possible. Ryan Feeney

Attached is my attempt at drawing Assembly Districts for Queens. In particular, please take a close look at districts 36 and 37. The rest of the districts are my ideas for the rest of the borough, but they should be taken with a grain of salt in comparison to those in Western Queens. I attached a version in .geojson, but am able to provide this map in other formats as well. You may see the source of this map at https://davesredistricting.org/maps#viewmap::5f730f3a-82c8-4e20-b3e8-edcd74f46404. Sincerely, Émilia Decaudin

Dear Commissioners: On behalf of the Yemeni American Merchants Association, I urge you, strongly, to offer priority to unifying major Yemeni-American communities in the Bronx's Morris Park and Brookyn's Bay Ridge neighborhoods. Please do so for congressional and state legislative lines. While you'll see the Bay Ridge neighborhood clearly delineated by the freeways and water bodies of water respectively demarcating its separation to the north and east and west and south, respectively, please mind these boundaries for Little Yemen in the Bronx: Williamsbridge Road on the east, Pelham Parkway on the north, Bronx Parkway on the west, and Tremont Avenue on the south. The Yemeni and Yemeni-American community thanks you kindly. Salam alaikum ("peace be upon you"), Christopher Zieja

Dear Commissioners: As discussed in my in-person and virtual testimony, please find attached this congressional map. I'll be further detailing it in testimony that will slightly follow the midnight deadline before December 7th -- however, you'll find its comprehensiveness worth your consideration, particularly as it's a relevant explanation for this map. - Equitable and balanced, this map represents the heart of a cohesive Northern Manhattan - The area represented in this scenario coalesces many different-but-together cultural and socio-economic groups, all currently working together tightly within Community Board 12. There's a shared history of progress with the people in this section. - Considering this district has arguably the most parkland-per-capita in NYC, they've been at the forefront of local climate justice and may have much in line with the Upstate New York climate conscious when it comes to aligning on the legislature climate agenda.

Please find attached to this submission, three maps (Congressional, Senate, Assembly) for districts that were drafted without any partisan consideration, but rather focused on; 1) meeting all of the constitutional and legal requirements for redistricting, including those new provisions being tested for the first time this year; and 2) producing districts that preserve municipal borders to the most practicable extent.
