I feel the NYS Legislature MUST BE COMPELLED to accept the IRC's work and data. I do NOT favor party control using the NYS Legislature to place an Imprimatur on the new district configurations. I would also favor having a SEPARATE set of inputs from COUNTIES NORTH OF the Ulster-Greene / Columbia-Dutchess line as these counties are diametrically opposite FROM the DownState-Metro-NY(C) set of counties that have a more common interest tie with NYC in many ways. @ present, this set of counties(D-M-NY(C) have a lock on State resources by dint of numbers. However, the sources of WATER & ELECTRICITY lie with UPSTATE counties. I say UPSTATE should have a better shot at State Resources, and benefits. The Court ruling of "One Man, One Vote," does NOT work in NYS, NOR in other states WITH population imbalances. 11-13-2020 ==== States looking to divide and form NEW states at DuckDuckGo, a search page with multiple state involved. Voting is intended to reflect the thoughts and needs of the individual people in any given area, not the political machinations of those interested in power and control. Districts should be drawn with the goal of bipartisan fairness, equality, and access; there should be no barriers to voting or to having one's opinions heard and counted. Both parties have been guilty of gerrymandering; both parties need to approach districting with honesty about past behavior and with an intent to serve the people of NY State. Disenfranchisement on any level and by any means only generates anger, despair, and a lack of commitment and participation in the democratic structure that has served some of us well but has the potential to serve everyone.

I do not want to see our 52nd district lines redrawn. The southern tier has distinct and different challenges from that of the northern parts of the state. Communities across our current district on our southern border face challenges competing with businesses a few miles away due to the lighter tax burden and less oppressive business climate in Pennsylvania. Thank You.

The best you can do for us it to redistrict AOC out of office. She is useless, worthless, incompetent and inept. Also, she is a third-rate barmaid. Thank you.

I do not support gerrymandering along the Southern Tier border of New York. Our community is uniquely different from our neighboring communities. For example, businesses in the Southern Tier are challenged by competition from businesses in nearby Pennsylvania, where the tax burden is lighter and the business environment is less oppressive. It's only a ten minute ride to purchase similar products at a lower cost. If the Southern Tier is restructured, our sales tax could potentially be increased to match the communities to our southeast which would place an unfair burden on businesses and people in the Southern Tier. Additionally, the new district maps do not accurately reflect the identity or values of the Southern Tier. It would create an advantage for other areas in New York, and diminish our voices in Albany. Finally, redistricting is purely a political ploy for politicians to satisfy their lust for power. Thank you, Nancy Korba

I have spent many years in both Binghamton (23 years) and Ithaca (6 years). The populations, cultures, and values of those two cities is so different that I do not believe they should be combined into one senate district. I've reviewed the draft plans and prefer the "Letters" plan for both Congress and Assembly, because they group Binghamton with similar towns (i.e. NOT Ithaca). I would emphatically vote for the following drafts: Letters - Congressional Names - Senate Letters - Assembly Thank you!

I am a resident of Windsor, NY and am one whose district is being redrawn. I will keep this simple. I vehemently oppose being joined with the Finger lakes area as is one proposal. I support the other option that joins my area with more southern areas of NY that border Pennsylvania. I feel underrepresented enough in NY politics and do not wish to have our area’s viewpoints diluted by the Finger Lakes region elitism

To whom it may concern: Having looked at the proposed maps, I would like to comment that the Letters plan for Congressional districts looks very sound, and my partner and I hope that the NYIRC will choose this Letters plan going forward. Based on our experience living in New York, especially the Binghamton area where we now reside, this Letters map appears to accurately reflect the regional distinctions of the state and will give the people of those areas the best chance for appropriate representation. Thank you for your work in this important matter.

My congressional district (27; I live in Elma, in Erie County) sprawls east. It should be connected to Buffalo, which is more concerned with recreational trails and walkability. I hope to use the CUNY tool to see the proposed maps, because my senate and assembly districts are gerrymandered.
