This district, NYS Senate District # 59 is excessively gerrymandered in the eastern regions. Also, incorporating semi-urban areas in the Rochester area with rural areas of Erie and Wyoming county will cause bias in favor of population area with no common issues.

This District, Legislature #144, is quite gerrymandered in the Lake Ontario plain. Splitting towns and villages is never a good idea; the district lines should follow geopolitical boundaries of villages, towns and counties to ensure that representation is consistent across local government entities.

Brooklyn now has way more Asian population, which most of them live in Sunset Park and Bensonhurst and nearby area. It is time to draw these neighborhoods together so that the Asian American community will be finally heard and represented.

I believe it is important for communities (primarily people of color), be recognized when we come together and form an alliance in thoughts and unified political awareness. By redistricting us, you will remove the progress we worked so hard to bridge. It would be disruptive and create a mistrust of our local politics. I pray that this is not another plot to destroy us when we are so close to building faith in our system.

I'm not sure what the partisan breakdown of my example would be, but I wanted to make it as contiguous as possible while maintaining county border lines in upstate New York. Please consider a similar approach.

Dear IRC, As a resident of Ithaca and Tompkins County, I completely support the 'Letters' redistricting plan because we in the greater Ithaca area have much more in common with Cortland, Syracuse, and Utica (places that I and many of my friends and relatives have visited in the last year) than with the current, poorly-conceived 23rd Congressional District, the vast majority of which I have never been to in my life. Thank you for taking my view on the matter into consideration, Hardy Griffin

State Senate seats should be allocated one per County, just as every state has two Senate seats on the federal level. State Assembly district boundaries should run along current town or county boarders, as should congressional districts. They should be structured to represent the people in a given area, not a huge section of the state. Having an assembly district that runs from near the Pennsylvania border almost to Lake Ontario makes no sense.

I prefer the congressional 'names' map for Rochester. I prefer the State Senate 'letters' map for Rochester. I prefer the State Assembly 'names' map for my Rochester district.

Please do not eliminate the 23rd CD, or create so-called vertical districts. The southern tier needs to stay intact.
