I have attached my map here. It is a modified version of the nyirc map. The changes were primarily made in the buffalo and albany regions where I do not think the maps were drawn well in the first draft.

This is the current IRC map with minor changes to PROPOSED to districts 13, 15, 16 and 19 only. Under the attached draft, each of the proposed deviates by less than 2% from the state average. With an Asian American population of 25% in District 16, it ensures the Asian American community's voice is heard by its representatives in Albany. It improves upon the current proposal by making whole the entire school district of North Shore School District, Carle Place, East Williston, Herricks, Mineola, and Roslyn, all of which had previously been split among Assembly districts under the IRC plan. The Incorporated Village of Lake Success is reunited with the other 8 villages of Great Neck to allow the villages to continue there as a group to a single Assemblymember

I am writing in support of reuniting both sides of Windsor Terrace in District 44 with the contiguous neighborhoods of Park Slope and Kensington. I watched all of the Brooklyn district testimony and took the time to put together a map of what I think makes sense for the district. In doing so I have shifted the boundaries in several areas pressing the boundaries of District 44 further into South Slope and Park Slope as these areas are contiguous and share both subway and bus lines as well as school districts. To balance the population I have removed the areas currently in District 44 that are in Prospect Heights and Flatbush which are at the farthest ends of the district and are physically removed from the heart of Park Slope/Kensington/Windsor Terrace and it would seem they could be better represented by an assembly member who is also representing more of their respective neighborhoods. This proposed district map reflects a population of 133,708, just shy of the goal of 134k, but well within the discussed 5% variance. Here is a link to my plan: https://districtr.org/plan/175056

As currently proposed this district by design will have multiple split Towns and school districts. That is inevitable based on the population of the area. Therefore, we are informing the committee that there are some changes we would like to see, to ensure that communities that share common interests, even if they don't always share the same local government or school district. In the Senate Districts Drawn by the Special Master, this fact of life is acknowledged. West & North Babylon and West & North Bay Shore share more common interests with each other than either is to any of the EDs down by the water, even within their own respective Towns and incorporated Villages. The reverse is also true. That applies to incomes, race, places of worship and where folks gather for community events. This map is consistent with existing Senate Districts 4 & 8 which will ensure that the districts will protect communities of common interest and be easy for the community to understand as they are based on physical and historical landmarks.

I live in Madison County and I am a fan of this map that was previously submitted, so I wanted to resubmit it to show my support. It keeps Madison County whole, connects it with other shared communities of interest, keeps the Assembly district in one Congressional District (CD22), and also has a deviation of only 0.03%! I believe that the IRC should strongly consider this map when creating their final draft.

Please find an alternative 44th AD map that I reference in my testimony repeatedly. This map is contiguous and maintains continuity in communities of interest better than both the 2022 lines and the IRC draft proposal. Robert Carroll

I’m a current and lifelong resident of Central Harlem, affordable housing professional, small business owner, and community activist. The purpose of my testimony is to advocate for the 70th New York Assembly District (70thAD). The 70thAD encompasses the neighborhood of Central Harlem and must remain a Central Harlem district to preserve African American plurality in addition to the history, cultural integrity, and interests of Central Harlem residents. The newly proposed 70thAD assembly map extends too far west into West Harlem and Hamilton Heights essentially dividing neighbors in the predominantly Latino community of West Harlem and diluting African American plurality in the 70thAD. Amsterdam Avenue is the natural western boundary of Central Harlem and should be the western boundary of 70th district. The north eastern boundary should extend to include up to 149th street and Adam Clayton Powell JR Blvd to include Esplanade Gardens, famously known as the Jewel of Central Harlem and Frederick Douglass Academy High School, my alma mater and that of notable Central Harlem residents such as Charles B. Rangel and James Baldwin. The south eastern boundaries must extend to 110th street to include Martin Luther King Towers which is famously known for the King Dome, one of Central Harlem’s most beloved and storied outdoor recreational facilities. I support the newly proposed eastern boundaries of the 70th AD which rightfully reinsert the Mount Morris park district into the 70thAD. Mount Morris Park is one of Central Harlem’s most historic rows. I currently live on 122nd Street between Lennox and Mount Morris Park famously known as “Doctors Row”. Doctor’s Row was built at the turn of the century and was an early enclave for black professionals in CEntral Harlem. These boundaries would create a coherent overlap with Central Harlem’s Manhattan Community Board District 10 and City Council District 9. I want to again thank the commission for the opportunity to provide testimony and urge you to revise the lines and maintain the integrity of the 70th Assembly District and the plurality of the African American vote in Manhattan's only predominantly black community.
